The Lost Paradise of Happiness
Assalam Alaikum wa rahmat Allah.
Peace be upon you dear visitor.
Happiness is the magical word that humans are looking for since dawn of history till the Day of Judgment in the Hereafter; wherever you go and whoever you meet, people are complaining about the lost paradise of happiness regardless their situation: single or married, healthy or ill, rich or poor.

The Lost Paradise of Happiness
I thought about this and see that the real problem is the absence of contentment within the majority of humans except only for few. This concept – not only word – is the state of mind where you make harmony with nature, environment and the context you live within and this pave the way for founding the lost paradise of happiness.
I am aware indeed about how hard life is; however if your perspective is wider when you try to see the whole situation not only the right moment, things can be much easier, and this simply means we should try our best to see the worst things in any situation then try to adapt ourselves so this hard situation can pass.
Reaching for your Goals
Nevertheless, contentment does not mean to quit being ambitious; on the contrary, people are called to do their best for setting themselves goals to reach them. This can be achieved through the decision making process where you plan everything in parallel with asking support from Allah. On the other hand, if failure occurs after all what we did, then we should not think that it is the end of the world and start investigating the reasons to avoid this in the future through positioning oneself process to align your life in the light of the new situation.
Nevertheless, I always wonder why people look at on side of the coin:
- focusing on the bad side while ignoring the good one.
- focusing on the good side while ignoring the bad one.
For me, both attitudes are wrong as everything in our life have two sides however it is your eyes that decide what to catch. Hence, Ladies and Gentlemen: please turn the coin and look to the other side and you will be shocked to find the lost paradise of happiness that you have missed all past years. Hereby, I am asking a very simple question: have you heard about the global proverb which states “do not cross the bridge until you reach it?” This is my advice for everybody that simply means do not expect bad things to happen in the future but rather work in the present, looking for a better future through planning it carefully as elaborated up.
Contentment not only Satisfaction
Indeed we are humans who feel sad especially when we want something but we could not achieve it; it is normal to feel so but life goes on. Hence, people I am calling you to look inside yourself and restore. Take a look for the people around and think about how much you have been gifted from Almighty Allah (swt) – GOD – for the unlimited gifts which was granted for you yet you complain from small things that can pass if you make your vision wider; i.e. contentment.
In my perspective, contentment is a wide umbrella that is capable of covering our needs and desires better than what satisfaction can do because you can be satisfied on the short-run by whatever you have or reached; however my question is beyond on the long-run and this is what contentment means.
Nevertheless, the cornerstone for reaching contentment, and not only satisfaction, is bridged with two sides; reasonable and spiritual. You can neither separate them nor implement one of them only. Therefore, as I talked up about reasonable ways by mind, in parallel I am talking about the spiritual way and this should be accompanied by understanding for your role as human on this planet. This shall lead us directly to the basic point which people used to ignore: your relation with the Creator, Almighty Allah (swt) who is the unlimited power in this universe.
For the Muslims of you, if you need any kind of spiritual support, do not hesitate; ask Allah directly from the deep and the bottom of your heart and knock knock knock on heaven’s door of Allah till they open for you because no one can offer you everything except The Creator.
Hand in Hand
Consequently, I am aware that since we are humans therefore we need to support each other when they can offer help. I think there are people who find their happiness when they place a smile upon the others faces when they help them, when they guide them, when they take care about them because this is the real happiness for those people to give not only to take. Nevertheless, it is important to do everything in a balanced way where you care about yourself, your family and people around in the community so each have your share of help and duty.
Finally I would like to end with Paulo Coelho’s greatest novel “The Alchemist” as if you take an overview about it, you shall discover that its main theme is how happiness is closer than you think when you do not ignore signs that lead you to find your way of happiness. In other simple words, the key for the lost paradise of happiness is contentment which can be achieved when you open up your mind!
Salam,
Hicham

I relate so much with this post. After my last visit to 20 satisfied poor homes, the word satisfaction now carries a much deeper meaning.
