Psycho Circus
I am back to my wandering about the human nature which was the focus of my interest in previous posts since what we see around us is simply done by people and ourselves too. In this post, however, there is no specific topic to discuss; rather it is more kind of observation and your input is welcomed.
To cut a long story short, sometimes many situations that we face in our life from other people on different levels of interaction made me recalls the famous piece “Entrance of the Gladiators (a.k.a Entry of the Gladiators)” which many of us know as ‘Circus Music’ and better recognised in our minds with ‘Circus Clowns’ theme.
I do not know about you but I always recall this melody during such situations either personal or non despite being composed about 112 years ago. Hence, I am leaving you with this marvellous piece, previous posts about ourselves, the humans being and quotes as usual.

This melody was composed in 1897 by the Czech composer Julius Fucik as a military march and re-introduced in 1974 by Leo Sayer and David Courtney for their composition entitled “The Show Must Go On”

Civilians Matters
I do not have a problem with “peace” since it is the dream that many human beings want to achieve every where according to the ‘normal’ human nature. It resembles the status where people can live securely within a society of any nation. My real problem, however, is mainly in the situation of this peace in the ‘Middle East’ underneath the Arab-Israeli conflict.
Peace Not Apartheid
If you are reading my blog for the first time, I am highlighting that despite being away from following any political ideology and respecting whatever you believe in, this has nothing to do with talking about human rights.
Hence in this post, I am neither interested in discussing the background nor the political aspects of this conflict since zillions of studies did so; I am rather concerned about the achievement of this versus what is being really processed on the ground and here I ought to stop by the actions taken from Israel against Palestinians throughout the whole conflict.
The Destruction Show
I believe that people are free to believe in whatever they want, however if you only look to the situation from ‘the actions/reactions’ political point of view (Israeli/Palestinians), I want to tell you this is one portion of a whole mosaic image that renders a fact about “Palestinians” who are living on a their land under occupation since the middle of the 20th century
I believe in your free-will, so argue religiously like you want since it is your right, but slow down and make a pause to think about how come that you only see what you believe-in as ‘Jewish’ where as in the same time you do not respect what other ‘Muslims’ and ‘Christians’ believe-in especially the importance of ‘Jerusalem’ and ‘Mount-Temple’. In fact, I am sure that neither Judaism nor Christianity nor Islam calls for any kind of fanaticism whatsoever; it is always people’s actions that require condemnation when it assault others. Hence forget about the stereotyped image(s) as many Jews, Christians and Muslims support human rights - Not in Allah (God) Name!
I believe in your free-will, so argue politically like you want since it is your right, but you shall never find any umbrella to legalise the actions taken by the Israeli government against Palestinians by whatever normative framework: ‘international law’, ‘international human rights’ and ‘international criminal laws’ which have been accepted by nations despite the chaos of political actions. Hence forget about the stereotyped image(s) - Not in My Name!
I have problem with volatising human rights of Palestinians like:
- Appling “the blockade” that affect them in Gaza Strip and West Bank;
- Hardening their life by all aspects both on the short run and long one;
- Repetitive assaults in the holy lands and Al-Aqsa Mosque;
- Evacuating them from their home-lands in ‘Jerusalem’ and other places;
- Establishing “The Separation Wall” that divides the occupied Arab Land;
- Implementing illegal settlements on the whole occupied Arab Land;
- Performing an armed operation codenamed “Operation Cast Lead” in Gaza Strip.
The Piece Process
I am repeating the beginning of the post; peace is the dream that people want to achieve, however such process cannot go in parallel with these kind of ‘collective punishment’ against Palestinians that place them under siege and prohibits their basic human rights. Nevertheless, although I have problem with volatising, it is not only about these basic human rights but also about their right to have their own real state.
In a previous post, I told you about ‘aggression’ that is implemented by people towards others and explained how they cannot see the “common grounds” which is something indeed valid either inside the members of the same society or in the regional and international relations between nations.
For that matter, I salute + support the Goldstone Report that came out to condemn these actions aganist civilians because they matter whoever they are. In fact, this is another step on the thousand miles way to go which simply means working on the implementation of various UN Resolutions for this case to end not only the continous seige but also the whole occupation so they can establish their own real state.
Even if it seems far right now to happen, but at least we are living in the 21st century, where people nowadays worldwide can access information either online or offline, so it is hard to twist facts as happened in the past.
p.s. I discovered that some people just heared about the report so do not take actions without reading. The 2nd link (bellow) has resources for the full + executive summaries for the report plus further resources for the whole subject in case anybody is interested.

High Hopes
On Friday, October 9th, 2009, ‘The Norwegian Nobel Committee’ has decided to award the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize to President Barack Obama “for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between people”. Reactions for such nomination have varied between welcoming and fury among people not only inside the U.S.A. but also worldwide. I am concerned by going behind the nomination in this post.
War and Peace
I believe people every where are looking for avoiding War and achieving Peace that is accompanied by Justice; something that we are lacking for since World War II. This was the main reason for establishing the U.N. in 1945 however it has not been achieved for many reasons that can be summed-up into the vision of people towards the future and how it is reflected on the ground in terms of strategies and action plans.
Rise and Fall
During the past decade(s), many nations rendered a negative political image of the United Stats which went dramatically to the bottom rock in the past 8 years due to the impact of the strategy implemented by successive administration(s) that affected other nations worldwide in the different fields of ‘Politics’, ‘Geopolitics’, ‘Economy’, ‘Climatic Change’, ‘Nuclear Disarmament’, ‘Arms Conduct’, ‘Terrorism’, ‘Democracy’ and ‘Human Rights’.
Nevertheless since he ran for presidential elections, Obama caught the attention of the globe by a ‘new language’ as a politician that aims to change this beside the main issues that are important to any American citizen at home who are not concerned about global-politics.
The implementation of such ‘new language’ that Obama is speaking before and after running for presidency has straight impact on the previously mentioned issues which became vital in the 21st century, and simply this is -in my opinion- why the nomination literally came after 11 days of his residence in the While House as President and before 4 months of his speech in Cairo to the Muslim World in June 4th, 2009 which shaped many aspects of his strategy.
But ...
On the ground, we still have 2 open wars in ‘Iraq’ and ‘Afghanistan’ that has no meaning from the beginning. I may understand that they are the legacy of Bush Administration but this means more death tolls for nothing particular. On the other hand, talking about Middle East Conflict, maybe it can not be solved that simple after more than 60 years however the very basic thing is not to ignore the way Israel is dealing there; I may understand that there are problems among the Palestinians but any human being can not ignore that there is no particular reason for the Israeli actions especially during Lebanon War (2006), Gaza War (2008/2009) & same goes for other occupied land so it is important to see the situation clearly.
People not Icons
Humans are always looking for good people who guide them for achieving noble things and this is rooted in the subconscious of people regardless the culture via literature in case it is not achieved on ground.
So despite understanding the enthusiasm of the noble committee to urge Obama on following up with his strategy, I am afraid that this can be nothing more than making an ‘icon’ unless every body -especially leaders- stand up for their responsibility to achieve a better situation after many decades of downfall on the human level.
Responsibilities
Maybe it is not that clear for many people however I see Obama -as personnel- has already been placed as a remark in the human history. However I am aware that ruling USA is not a ‘one man show’ but rather is a constitutional framework that has many branches which means more responsibilities and pressure to be placed on the administration’s shoulder after this prize. Nevertheless I think this responsibility is distributed among all of the leaders not only Obama because he is only the 44th president of the United States not of every single nation.
Consequently, to achieve what this prize aims to support, there are thousand miles everybody has to go before they sleep. This simply means more cooperation between people which we have not seen yet in the past decades by any means in terms of politics and its impact on the ground in the issues mentioned up. Such cooperation can not be done unless people are aware about understanding each other, as I wrote 3 years ago in I-MAG Magazine.
In a nutshell, this is what I believe as the real message behind such nomination or else we shall discover that we are just reading another good novel. Future shall tell us and hopefully not!
