Roundup for November 2009

This is the monthly report #2 in the form of story line for posts written in November where I covered various issues.

Story Line

Roundup for (November 2009)One of them was following-up the tragedian case of Marwa El-Sherbiny on Justice and Stereotype that focused on the aftermath of the trial for her killer in Dresden, Germany.

Another tragedy was Fort Hood shooting in United States where Tragedy and Stereotype joined forces to produce this horrible act. In complementary to my commentary, I tried to go Underneath the Shooting few days later, since media as usual has nothing to focus on except the religious background of the gunman. In parallel, I also discussed how Civilians Matters in any conflict and here I focused the non-stop tragedy of Palestinians and how they are being targeted by Israeli forces aside from any political chaos.

On a different field, although I am neither football fan nor following matches, I was surprised by the aftermath of Egypt and Algeria WorldCup 2010 qualifying matches, and hence I expressed this within an Arabic post entitled هيستيريا الساحرة المستديرة which can be translated into hysterical football. You know what? The way people deal in this world either in these examples or others made me wonder about how events sometimes run as if you are watching a Psycho Circus everywhere!

Well, the coin has two sides so aside from problematic events, weird news were circulating about the period of Egypt under Cambyses II and hence I wondered too. Furthermore, there was an announcement for the event of Kolena Laila 2009 that is calling Arab readers and bloggers to participate online and I wish many people can do so. On the other hand, Muslims worldwide were celebrating Hajj and Eid al-Adha which is an important part of their religion.

What else? November rains were falling and so do stereotypes on Muslims, so this month could not leave us without more of them as we saw the Swiss referendum to ban minarets of mosques. I tried to go beyond meaning of this over Flying with Black Wings away from the bigotry in our world.

Time-Out!

Last but not least, if you love music generally and Arabic ones particularly, you are mostly welcome to join me on Arabic Music Respite and free your mind from anything else.

“ It is December! The last month of 2009 which means the new year is knocking the doors. For my Arabic readers, I remind you with ‘Rouh ya November (Arabic: روح يا نوفمبر)’ theme. Check my tweet for it :)

Roundup for October 2009

I thought about making some change to my blogging style on the 1st day of a new month by summing up the posts I published in the previous one in the form of ‘story-line’ so here is my trial that hopefully (incha’allah) will continue.

Story Line

Roundup for (October 2009)Once upon a time there was a blogger named “Hicham Maged” who acquired his domain-name in October 2006. He celebrated the 3rd anniversary by Blue: A New Look and Blog Milestone: Comments. Furthermore, although he does not worry about this, it was nice to shed some lights on Alexa in BloggingLand and pointing out to Mashable’s 2009 Open Web Awards.

In fact, tech-posts are not the main focus, so despite being surprised by the 2009 noble prize nomination for peace, he discussed the High Hopes behind this step. In parallel, it was important to wonder and ponder about his local society in Common Grounds which is also valid for the global society on Earth.

As for individuals, he shed some lights on And Marriage is ..., harassment in Shayassa ya Fandem and going behind the niqab controversial in Modesty of the Mind which leaded to wonder about the Beauty of the Mind.

Finally, he has not forgotten what happened back in July, thus Marwa: A Call for Justice came out 2 weeks before the trial. Last but not least, he wondered about Egypt and Mustafa Mahmoud when the later died at the end of the month.

Alexa in BloggingLand

I enjoy blogging technical posts from time to time although it is out of my niche in order to break the routine and to give you breaks from my thoughts, so celebrate my dears like you do either in “Eid” and “Christmas” and it is a second technical post in row after the previous one so ‘Hurray’ my friends!

Smoke! In a previous post, I announced reaching a milestone for comments on my blog which is not bad for me and told you about spam comments too. In the matter of fact, I have stopped worrying about ‘Number of Comments’ I receive, ‘PageRank’ of my blog, ‘Alexa Rank’ of my domain, and all those type of worries that usually irritate other bloggers since I am concerned more about the quality of the content presented.

Nevertheless, I came across two posts over blogs for two of my online friends where they handled the alexa ranking issue in two different and opposite ways. In the matter of fact, I am not as much interested in discussing their opinions as in referring you to their posts so you can go further for reading what they have presented there in details. & this is why I choose the title of my post like that so please take a look at:

I have to mention that my way of not-to-worry about this issue has nothing to do either with being convinced or not convinced with such techniques in the blogsphere and websites in general since I am aware about the importance however this is my personal way to handle things.

Finally, I do not know whether I told you this before or not but I am happy with this awesome blogging software: WordPress. I might blog about this later but here you go!

“Enjoy your blogging experience.”
