7/7: The Devil’s Day
Assalam Alaikum wa rahmat Allah.
Peace be upon you dear visitor.
How can you label the 7th of July 2005 other than the day where devil setup his black parties? Two bloody acts occurred in this day: 7/7 London bombings in the United Kingdom plus assassinating Mr. Ihab Al-Sherif our Egyptian Ambassador in Iraq. Hereby, I cannot find another expression; hence this blog entry tries to issue an analytic criticism for what happened yesterday!
Calls from Satan
It seems like a series of calls to his human agents were done by Satan the day before yesterday or even older in order to prepare for this. Indeed, I am aware that it is not about oversimplifying of evil versus good yet I cannot prevent myself from recalling this imaginary picture to my memory where the devil sends death orders to carry out these these doomed actions!
1. London Bombing
The 7/7 devil’s day started with news reporting a series of suicidal attacks on London’s transportation system where innocent victims have fallen down either injured or killed for no particular reason except that extremists decided to use their evil power.

7/7 London Bombings
Firstly, let me place my condolence and share my sympathy with the families of both injured and killed human beings. I understand how horrible they felt because we in Egypt had suffered from terrorism during the whole decade of the 1990s of the past 20th century while the world was watching because radical terrorists were not in the focus of lights yet at this time.
Secondly, I am not that much surprised about the linking with radical terrorists like “al-Qaeda” or others who follow their ideology because they are nothing but group of terrorists packed together who have illusions about their “blessed raids” that are actually nothing but damned actions indeed.
Thirdly, needless to repeat myself that Islam is much greater than words to defend; however what is being committed under its umbrella by those radical extremists is what we, Muslims and non-Muslims, are called stand up against terrorism because there acts are nothing but another scene of the scary movie of Islamophobia plus ugly terrorism worldwide.
For that matter, what happened in the devil’s day means we it is time to start highlighting on the sharp edge that clearly separates terrorism committed by radical terrorists from what Islam is because they cannot meet under the same umbrella. Hence, these attacks are as evil as anyone can imagine, yet they reveal some basic tactics used by radical terrorists to serve their purpose:
- the manipulation of Islam and Islamic knowledge;
- the oversimplifying for events and history.
In other simple yet direct words, I consider terrorists as people with black and closed mentalities that had failed to understand the light of faith, or better say the light of The Almighty Allah (swt) – GOD – because they went far away from the basic fact that Islam encourages urbanizing Earth and go through their irrational acts which is their own problem not Islam and this should be clear while dealing with them.

Ihab Al-Sherif (Egyptian Ambassador)
2. Ihab Al-Sherif
On the other hand, the 7/7 devil’s day also carried the sad news about the horrible assassination of Ihab al-Sherif, our Egyptian Ambassador to Iraq, who was kidnapped five days ago on the 3rd of July in Baghdad.
I can feel the pain of his family as they lost him for no reason except the evil power of those terrorists. I am aware that everybody shall leave this life under the will of Almighty Allah (swt) yet I am talking about the circumstances themselves.
I shall not wonder about how some radical terrorists forget that we are not Almighty Allah (swt) to judge others, because their mentalities have no room for such basic facts, and in the hereafter, Allah shall judge everybody not us.
Finally, let me emphasize again that terrorism has no religion or race; it is all about the ugly face of some sick and miserable human creatures as I explained up. For me, I wonder how we can call them ‘human creatures’ because they seems nothing but devil’s agents as elaborated.
Indeed! I felt sorry for all the people who killed or injured, and felt sorry for all those innocent victims who have fallen down every where; however I am definitely sure that since one of Allah names is “Al-Adl” which literally means (“The Just” or “The Equitable”), therefore Allah shall judge everyone in the hereafter according to what he (and she) had presented during our life on planet Earth!
Update: here is another post that lists links for statements about Muslims Reaction to 7/7 London Bombings that are issued by some UK-based Muslim Organizations.

Hicham

Passing by to say Hello
Assalam Alaikum wa rahmat Allah.
Peace be upon you dear visitor.

Hello in Multiple Languages
It has been quite some time since I posted a blog entry so here are some personal updates. I am now getting closer to end an important phase of my life, so I ask The Almighty Allah (swt) – GOD – to help and support me.
This is the main reason being off-line as there is no time for on-line activity as I used to do in the past but as soon as this step is over, I will be back inshallah.
Nevertheless, I am passing by to say hello; it is one of the powerful words that we need my friends in this rushing world. Thus, I place a geek tip about Jennifer Runner‘s on-line page where she listed hello in multiple languages. This is a marvelous website and make sure to check here other listings. Good Job!
Finally, I am recalling my first post where I welcomed you, so till the next time, wish all of you who read this to be in a good state of health, faith and to achieve whatever you want to in your life.
Enjoy
Salam,
Hicham

A+U equals Life
Assalam Alaikum wa rahmat Allah.
Peace be upon you dear visitor.
A+U is my favorite abbreviation for the term Architecture plus Urbanization which is the field of my study and work that I have chosen for myself few years ago. It is nice to merge the benefits of both an architecture student and urban planning student through intersecting their studies through urban planning and design.
A+U = Life
The step of merging A+U makes your limit is only the sky; as you can have both the “wide vision” of an urban planner in addition to the “detailed vision” of an architect. Indeed, both requires artistic imagination in parallel with the ability to transform your ideas into spaces and forms that aim to enhance people’s lifestyle.

Old Cairo: A+U equals Life
Consequently, I see A+U equals life; as this filed is in direct contact with the human activity where people need spaces perform their activity within, starting with the urban space which is as wide as a city till reaching indoor space which is as narrow as a room in addition to indoor and outdoor spaces in-between.
Needless to mention that what suites a place like “Old Cairo” in Egypt differs from a place like old Paris, old London, or other places located in any of the continents of the World: Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Australia/Oceania, and Antarctica.
Each has its own identity, whether being old or new, so the whole process requires both sensitivity and understanding for the context of built environment on the physical, cultural, and socio-economic levels in order to achieve usable spaces and forms, not only good looking but unusable designs.
A+U and Islam: A Rendered Perspective
In addition to my elaborations, I have another wider vision on A+U, but firstly, let me remind you with a basic fact that was early introduced on my blog which tell us about how Islam encourages urbanizing Earth according to the Islamic faith and beliefs and this simply means Islam is anti-terrorism but who think out of the box of stereotypes and misconceptions nowadays!
In the light of this, my perspective is: Islam means to build not to destroy; I see this model a rational one on the intellectual, social, and historical levels since The Almighty Allah (swt) – GOD – had created us in order to know each other, hence I rendered this parallel perspective for A+U equals life.
Chaos of Two Extremes
Nowadays, I am aware that many fundamental facts about Islam have been lost within the chaos created by:
- Extremists: with their irrational and illegal acts towards Muslims before Non-Muslims;
- Islamophobic Haters: with their irrational and intolerance for Islam and Muslims.
Ironically, using our minds in a rational way might reveals that both of these extremes are causing noise pollution in the atmosphere to serve their purposes which might be different but at the end of the day they are feeding misconceptions that created the typical stereotypes about Islam and Muslims in general.
In a nutshell, our human intellect shall rationally lead our minds to another parallel perspective that combine both A+U equals Life plus Islam is about building not destroying yet nowadays you can still get your ticket for watching the scary movie of Islamophobia plus terrorism as it is currently playing, and this makes me wonder when will we see a different world where people can understand, respect and exist together in the 21st century the better than the past 20th century.
Hey! I am just wondering or maybe dreaming while awake! – Salam
