Amr Khaled follows the Steps of Al-Habib

Assalam Alaikum wa rahmat Allah.
Peace be upon you dear visitor.

My dear Arabs and Muslims worldwide, Ramadan month is knocking on our door since 3 days ago which makes me happy not only because fasting Ramadan but also the spirituality of this month is beyond expressing and it is one of the five pillars of Islam which make Ramadan so special for Muslims.

It is also interesting that one of the Muslim intellectuals, Amr Khaled, is presenting a new program for Ramadan called Ala Khota Al-Habib which can be translated as “Following the steps of Al-Habib” in English and it is being aired over Iqraa TV channel every day at 12:00 AM Mecca local time (+3 GMT).

The Arabic name Al-Habib is one of the nicknames that Muslims tell about Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to which means “the beloved one”, so Khaled’s program deals with presenting Al-Seerah (story) of this beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

Now after three days of following up the program, I like the new way Amr Khaled presents it which is far from the traditional and formal ways that might not attract many people especially youth from my point of view.

I do not know if this will lead others to criticize Amr Khaled as usual but by all means this new presentation is great, so I wish him all the best indeed within this special program for Ramadan 2005 AD (1426 Hijiri).

I shall review it in a future post, reviewed it in “Amr Khaled’s Ala Khota Al-Habib” over my blog. On the other hand, you can find more elaborations about Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) over this blog plus my article entitled “Muhammad: Mercy upon Mankind” which is recently published over the 4th issue of I-MAG, the free PDF intellectual magazine.

Salam,
Hicham

Knock Knock Knock

Assalam Alaikum wa rahmat Allah.
Peace be upon you dear visitor.

No, it is not the knock knock joke but I am entering my blog after almost one month since the last time I came here due to some unexpected changes in my schedule. Nevertheless, knocking on the doors is the inspiring source of this post, so let me start by placing the following question.

Q: why do people usually knock a door?
A: in order someone open and let them in.

Knock Heaven's Door of Allah

Knock Heaven's Door of Allah

This is true in the life people living, but if we look at this from another perspective, we shall discover the similarity; this can also apply about the relationship between an individual Muslim and Almighty Allah (swt). In the mundane life, when people need something they usually go after it and walk-through all possible roots and knocking on every door till they reach their goals.

In simple words, since I believe clay equals man therefore we need to keep on knocking the heaven’s doors of Allah till we have an answer; however I see the meaning behind this knocking in our life from a wide angle, where minor and major levels correlate together for achieving this goal as follows:

  1. Minor Level: making du’aa for Allah.
  2. Major Level: doing what shall please Allah.

As for the minor level: this means that you take actions in positive way in parallel with du’aa (supplication) to Almighty Allah (swt) that you reach success, and not the other way of taking no actions in a negative way and wait for a miracle to happen because it will never happen.

As for the major level: this means doing the good things for yourself, your family, friends, country, and the radius keeps on increasing till the whole world is inside the circle of your interests, so it is not only about you, yourself and your needs.

Indeed, I am aware that life has its ups and downs; knocking on the heaven’s door of The Almighty Allah (swt) should not be only what Muslims on hard times do; rather they are called to keep on this knocking in the easy times too and one day in the hereafter everybody shall be asked for what he (and she) has done.

In a nutshell, knocking on the heaven’s door of Allah by integrating both levels for reaching your goals in life on Earth and The hereafter inshallah as in this case you shall be following what Almighty Allah said and what Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), so let us keep on knocking positively not negatively.

Salam,
Hicham
