I hate everything about You!
For every action there is a reaction equal in magnitude and opposite in direction! This is Newton's 3rd law of motion so I wonder does it apply for human interaction?
Marwa's Case
On July 1st 2009, a 32-year-old Egyptian wife named Marwa al-Sherbini was stabbed to death by a Neo-Nazi outside Dresden's courtroom in Germany. The story began when the victim placed an appeal against the attacker on insulting her for wearing Hijab -Islamic headscarf or veil for women- and the murder occurred just before she was to give her evidence in the German court.
Marwa, 3 months-old pregnant with unborn baby, was living with her Husband, academic named Elwi Ali-Okaz who was on scholarship to study Genetic Engineering. She and the baby died while the husband is in critical condition as of writing this post. He was accidently shot by the police while they were trying to arrest the man.
Oh mon dieu! This is not just a "hate crime"; it is rather an extreme outcome of how stereotyping might render a person's life with hate and dim any light inside his/her soul forever. Hereby, I am always wondering about how humans can fill their hearts with hate to the tip that they do not understand their differences and deal with it and prefer to take that short-cut way; Ah! Since I do not love you therefore I will simply kill you!
It is something disgusting regardless the faith, race or culture but unfortunately is prevailing worldwide and this is This is actually the manifesto of extremists worldwide. On the other hand, she used to wear the hijab, what is anybody's problem? That is her choice same as who choose to wear nothing; but again stereotyping is spreading its wings away.
Narrow minded mentalities unite worldwide! As if they are not already!
Mass Media: What If
That said, I have a second wondering about how this case was ignored in the world mass media either online or offline. Some will say because she was Muslim Hijabi, (i.e. wearing the hijab), but I say mainly it is because she was neither celebrity nor Politian so let us ignore the whole story. The same goes for every innocent victim who lost his/her life en silence just because they are not that juicy for the media to follow up with.
Let us play the What IF game, just imagine if the situation was reversed and the victim was a westerner who was stabbed anywhere in the world or -God Heaven- in any Middle Eastern country by Muslim extremists, or even what the media used to call 'minorities' in Egypt! You definitely would have heard the world's buzzing and the internet goes down too!
Give Me a Break: No one has the right to kill anybody because they do not like them or even judge their intentions according to their faith or what they wear! Hereby, it fills me with sadness how we are almost finishing the first 10 years of the 21st century and still do not know how to understand our differences. Hereby, I wonder about dealing with misconception about Islam and Muslims!
Marwa and the unborn baby: RIP
All innocent non celebrity/non-politician victims: RIP!

Some considerations about this tragic event. I have read about the call to hatred against Germany. However… 1) the german justice system was trying the killer-to become for his past assaults against his muslim neighbours, istead of just ignoring their reports; 2) the assassination is anyway the act of a single person; 3) East Germany is a notoriously xenophobic area against all -and I mean all- foreigners. Also other westerners have been attacked there.
OK let’s play the What-if game. A couple of years ago there was an iItalian guy, 27yo, who volunteered to help in teaching at some primary school in the West Bank. Story goes, one weekend he was walking somewhere in Jerusalem and he was stabbed to death by a Palestinian, who had in mind to kill a Jew, as he claimed. Well, there were just minor reports in Italy and none elsewhere.
As of myself: I am a Muslim convert, and while I condemn any form of violence, I am also annoyed by any form of instrumentalization. May Allah bless Marwa and may Allah moderate our anger and drive it towards the construction of a better world.

I already twittered this, Omar: this is not aganist Germany or Germans or anyother body. I hate generalising and mixing stuff together and can’t preach what I am already not practicing. This is a horrible hate crime that need a serious treatment: the killer shoud be punished according to the German law + We start thinking about the wrong stereotyped images either aganist Muslims or Non-Muslims! Thanks for sharing your insighful comment!
July 7th, 2009 @ 11:42
i have a what if for you.some islamic media praises random violence towards westerns so what if the western media did the same for the random violence towards islamics then where would your position be.violence is violence no matter who it is against so instead of just complaining about violence that isn’t reported why not try to write about stopping all violence on all fronts
July 7th, 2009 @ 19:19
The mirror, I agree with your input. I don’t agree with this type of actions because this isn’t from Islam yet it still done by some Muslims. Hereby I always say that there’s compelete difference betwen What Islam -in the core- call for and how some Muslims ‘interepert’ it for whatever reasons, so it’s not the fault of Islam but of Muslims who do that.I am aware that stereotyped images are found on both sides and this need to work on to change them. As you find in this post, I clearly mentioned that violence from whoever aganist whoever is not acceptable at all! Thanks for sharing your insightful comment!

I dont think there is anything like it comes to religions, it’s all about the animal which is hidden in everyone and if every human being learns to control the animal in ourselves, nothing like this will happen anywhere in this world.
July 8th, 2009 @ 02:54
I got what you mean however I think if we tell about this as ‘animal’ we are not fair to these poor creatures. Humans, when apply racism, are more dangerous than wild animals, at least they don’t kill each other intentionally as happened in this crime.

But to understand this, it will decades..
July 8th, 2009 @ 13:12
Wow that is pretty crazy! It is mind blowing indeed what drives people to act out so far out of hate. I know it is fear, but it is still not excused.
May we continue to build a world of peace and love where all people can feel safe regardless of who they are or how they dress, or eat, or anything else.
But we must start with looking with the eyes of love at all, especially those closest to us.

Well, how about the 68 tourists killed by Muslim Terrorists in Luxor in 1997 ? I can’t find a comment about that in Hicham Maged’s blog ? Face it: Europeans have enough of arrogant Muslims which are not behaving as guests. An example ? In future the Brits will sink your boats: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/politics/8141069.stm
July 9th, 2009 @ 07:10
Mofaz, I am aganist such stuff and as u said ‘Muslim Terrorists’. If you take a look in my archive, you’ll find me talking about 9/11 and 7/7. As for Luxor’s 1997, this blog wasn’t alive at that time yet all my thoughts regarding terrorism are discribed in the mentioned articles. As for Muslims who don’t behave as guests, this is another story and stay tunned to the new post. Thanks for sharing your opinion!
July 13th, 2009 @ 07:29
Why should they behave as guests ?? when europeans go to countries, do they behave as guests ? ofcourse not, they get into the social life and integrate themselves… that is what people outside europe do when they go to europe, they integrate themselves, but u know what ?? Hospitality is what europeans lack ! .. people from all over the world come to my island and we receive them with a smile always and always greet them, but when you go to europe ? what happens ?? you are not greeted with flowers like here .. you are taken to foreign migration office .. they ask you questions for hours, and if you don’t have anyone to come and fetch you at airport, they put you in a plane and you go back home, this is mentality of european democracy and that is how you people made good people like us build hate against your country.
ashfaq´s last blog ..Marwa El-Sherbini a pregnant woman killed in court
July 14th, 2009 @ 10:59
What if it was a German woman killed in an Egyptian court as per reverse of this incident. Would people in Germany shout in the streets “Death to Egypt”? Boycott Egyptian products? Etc etc. I doubt it. It looks to me people in Muslim countries are quick to throw death treats to anyone they dislike. My point is stop picking fault at the west and non-Muslims and take a deeper look at you own shortcomings.
July 14th, 2009 @ 11:05
Dany, no one who care about humans accepts this either in Egypt, Germany or anywhere because Murder is Murder. Please read my second post entitled “De-Stereotyping the Image” and thanks for stopping by here.
August 4th, 2009 @ 15:14
Yes, it’s a tragedy. But it’s a tragedy in a row of tragedies – whilst I fully understand and support the prosecution of this bastard, there’s more than this. Didn’t you ever think, that muslims are consciously opposing themselves to whatever country they live in – speaking about Western Europe. Being in Rome, do like Romans do – if you live in the country, try to experience this country’s values and integrate yourself into it’s culture. I’m personally foreigner here in the UK, but I simply do what Brits do – and I do it pretty well as I can see — that’s precisely a reason why (even though I may never become a Brit) I will never feel on the receiving end of the xenophobia.

i really am shocked to hear of this news it is not killing but slaying!stabbing an innocent women in a court while shouting things like”you dont deserve to live” its horrible.as for the WHAT IF thing let me give you an example of what had happened.everyone remembers daniel pearl right?personally iam against his death as well. But the differece in reaction of media to the deaths of daniel pearl and marwa is ridiculous.daniel pearl’s death created havoc in europian as well as asian media whereas marwa was not given first page coverage in many of newspapers! is white man’s life more important than an Egyptian women???????????
October 10th, 2009 @ 22:09
haimaiat: this is exactly what I was wondering for and still.
October 2nd, 2009 @ 21:38
ok i went overboard.there are examples of extremism in every country and religion nowadays.the solution is to make a change in behaviour by starting with ourselves.i hav done research and found examples where europians or americans were killed because of racism.this thing goes on both sides.the least we could is make a change in our thinking (i hav started trying)and really make this world a better place to live.
October 10th, 2009 @ 22:12
Exactly haimiat; racism is something ugly regardless who is doing it. I am for people regardless their colour, race, face or religion because we are all humans at first and at last too. Check the other article entitled “De-Stereotyping the Image” for more thougts about this point and of course, thanks for your visit!
