Hot or Not?

August 9, 2008 | 3:35 pm

“Wow! She is hot!” + “Oh! She is not hot at all” are the most popular common phrases that the majority of Men use while describing Women. Actually, such attitude is very disgusting to the point that makes me feel sick and this is directly translated into my favourite response: ‘Blah Blah Blah!’

Beauty and the BeastI’m not comfortable with the status of women in our societies either locally or globally; women had been stereotyped into this lower rank disgusting category of ‘Hot or Not’ which became the fuel for this endless debate among different discourses either being liberal or conservative that have nothing to deal with women except the body.

I found it very strange in such discourses how lights have been spotted over the external features of women, which I call ‘Hardware’ whereas same lights have been dimmed when it comes to the internal features represented in her mind, which I call ‘Software’!

C’Mon! Hardware can not run unless software is found, right? So in other words, it’s all about the mentalities that deal with this issue regardless the race, sex and religion. Hereby the whole thing reveals that humanity have not pass over the teenager period yet despite being at the threshold of the 21st century of what so called human progress.

I’ve elaborated before over my articles + posts that Men and Women are equal in the rights yet they are completely different either on the physical state or the mental one. Such difference was founded by Allah (GOD) in order to achieve a kind of integration that fulfils the mission of creation. This is why the two extremes of ‘Women are the root of Evil’ and ‘Women are our Baby-Doll Beauty Idols’ are not welcomed by me at all.

In a nutshell, when the two sides understand the rasion d’etre for living on this planet many stereotyped images shall be self-corrected and it’s all in the software my dears!

Very good insight! I enjoyed reading your post and agree with the points that you have made, of course I am a women which has colored my view a little, but I feel we should stop judging people by their looks with words that are somewhat degrading and maybe look at the person for who they are.

a lot of men and women are very superficial … it is sad that sometimes most of us just gives so much attention to what we see and what we could possibly discover about another person.

thatnk you for visiting my blog and would you like to linkback?

  4. Have to laugh at the analogy of comparing a woman’s looks at hardware. Refreshing point of view and a welcome one.
Is MAN not hardwired to reponse to a woman’s hardware?
Is it duty to overcome this “animal” nature and animal response or embrace it?
Isn’t it the hardware that attracts but the software that makes you stay? In a sea of choices the quickest way to “choose” to pursue something is by site. Interested in your thoughts on this.

  5. Hicham says:

@ K. Fields: Indeed; the person for who they are not how they look.

@ MariahByron: How true! however sometimes beliefs are being faked by people not from the original source

@ Cher: unfortunately c’est la vie and I hope humans can upgrade themselves to overcome this.

@ Lisa- Unschooling Mom: Both are hardwired yet the problem is in the software! Don’t you think that we need to perform a ‘clean format’ and reinstall ;)

  6. John says:

Since people are superficial as regards their reactions generally, we can’t expect anything different in regard to women.

Or can we? People are more important than things. If we put a lot of effort into training ourselves and our children to use computers, technology, etc., shouldn’t we put even more effort into teaching our to rightly see, appreciate, and relate to other persons?

Yes, I believe it is pretty rediculous of how we view, “hot” now a days.

  10. tunepal says:

yup. usually, i will said like that. Ya..last nite, that girls really hot and cute!!

  11. Sometimes we can tell if she is hot or not through our naked by its gestures or on how they dress up.But you are also right that we cannot predict automatically if the hardware is hot until we didn’t test the software..really great!

  12. Hicham says:

@ harmano: Hardware is useless without the softi :P

    @ tunepal: Which one :P

    @ tunepal: Indeed :)

  13. I feel sad when I hear young men or teenagers describing women or ladies to be hot or something a bit disrespectful.
I totally agree that hardware is useless without software.
and I feel that it is a responsible of parents to guide their son on how to respect women.

  14. noha says:

well i think this is not the only stereotyped way of thinking we meet, peopleusually use their stereotypeed thinking to help themselves or give themselves an excuse why they had that impression and acted upon, i think it all lies that most of us gets satisfied what appears to their eyes and that is it, we need to use our minds and souls more to know others and take the risk of gettingcloser to know oothers better

  15. These days everything is turned upside down. Many times I see and hear how women discuss whether this or that man is hot or not. So this is no longer one-way street traffic.
