Civilians Matters
I do not have a problem with “peace” since it is the dream that many human beings want to achieve every where according to the ‘normal’ human nature. It resembles the status where people can live securely within a society of any nation. My real problem, however, is mainly in the situation of this peace in the ‘Middle East’ underneath the Arab-Israeli conflict.
Peace Not Apartheid
If you are reading my blog for the first time, I am highlighting that despite being away from following any political ideology and respecting whatever you believe in, this has nothing to do with talking about human rights.
Hence in this post, I am neither interested in discussing the background nor the political aspects of this conflict since zillions of studies did so; I am rather concerned about the achievement of this versus what is being really processed on the ground and here I ought to stop by the actions taken from Israel against Palestinians throughout the whole conflict.
The Destruction Show
I believe that people are free to believe in whatever they want, however if you only look to the situation from ‘the actions/reactions’ political point of view (Israeli/Palestinians), I want to tell you this is one portion of a whole mosaic image that renders a fact about “Palestinians” who are living on a their land under occupation since the middle of the 20th century
I believe in your free-will, so argue religiously like you want since it is your right, but slow down and make a pause to think about how come that you only see what you believe-in as ‘Jewish’ where as in the same time you do not respect what other ‘Muslims’ and ‘Christians’ believe-in especially the importance of ‘Jerusalem’ and ‘Mount-Temple’. In fact, I am sure that neither Judaism nor Christianity nor Islam calls for any kind of fanaticism whatsoever; it is always people’s actions that require condemnation when it assault others. Hence forget about the stereotyped image(s) as many Jews, Christians and Muslims support human rights - Not in Allah (God) Name!
I believe in your free-will, so argue politically like you want since it is your right, but you shall never find any umbrella to legalise the actions taken by the Israeli government against Palestinians by whatever normative framework: ‘international law’, ‘international human rights’ and ‘international criminal laws’ which have been accepted by nations despite the chaos of political actions. Hence forget about the stereotyped image(s) - Not in My Name!
I have problem with volatising human rights of Palestinians like:
- Appling “the blockade” that affect them in Gaza Strip and West Bank;
- Hardening their life by all aspects both on the short run and long one;
- Repetitive assaults in the holy lands and Al-Aqsa Mosque;
- Evacuating them from their home-lands in ‘Jerusalem’ and other places;
- Establishing “The Separation Wall” that divides the occupied Arab Land;
- Implementing illegal settlements on the whole occupied Arab Land;
- Performing an armed operation codenamed “Operation Cast Lead” in Gaza Strip.
The Piece Process
I am repeating the beginning of the post; peace is the dream that people want to achieve, however such process cannot go in parallel with these kind of ‘collective punishment’ against Palestinians that place them under siege and prohibits their basic human rights. Nevertheless, although I have problem with volatising, it is not only about these basic human rights but also about their right to have their own real state.
In a previous post, I told you about ‘aggression’ that is implemented by people towards others and explained how they cannot see the “common grounds” which is something indeed valid either inside the members of the same society or in the regional and international relations between nations.
For that matter, I salute + support the Goldstone Report that came out to condemn these actions aganist civilians because they matter whoever they are. In fact, this is another step on the thousand miles way to go which simply means working on the implementation of various UN Resolutions for this case to end not only the continous seige but also the whole occupation so they can establish their own real state.
Even if it seems far right now to happen, but at least we are living in the 21st century, where people nowadays worldwide can access information either online or offline, so it is hard to twist facts as happened in the past.
p.s. I discovered that some people just heared about the report so do not take actions without reading. The 2nd link (bellow) has resources for the full + executive summaries for the report plus further resources for the whole subject in case anybody is interested.
