Blog resumes after pause in 2010

If you tell yourself while reading this post: “yuppie, this blog is online and running again!” then you are neither dreaming nor have a nightmare (lol) but simply awake in the virtual world. In other words dear readers, in this post I proclaim that my blog resumes after long pause without posting and later being offline.

Blog resumes after pause in 2010

As a start, I think there is a loyal relationship between any blogger and his readers whether they comment or not, so I awe you brief personal/technical updates for the blog and its author after being away for a long time. It is strange that few years ago in 2006, I declared that I am back to the blogosphere. Later, years have passed and we reached 2010 yet I find myself in a close situation. Nevertheless, things have changed either on the personal or the global levels during the past period, so let me brief the updates into the following three points.

1. Personal Updates: Three months ago, I told you some brief updates about myself that I was just recovering. In fact, this process is taking a longer period than expected and still ongoing in a slow rhythm which might take another set of months till the beginning of the new next year 2011.

This simply means do not expect a continuous blogging activity as I used to do in 2009 or following up regularly with my favorite blogs and their awesome bloggers. Nevertheless, there will be updates plus you shall find me commenting on your posts from time to time, inshallah!

Hereby, I remind you with the previous post about the importance of the positioning oneself process that I see as a must to work through to restore what we loose as human beings who pass by hard times in the ways discussed in there, so you are welcomed to read more.

2. Technical Updates: I have tweaked my blog in terms of structure and look. If you are a regular reader, then you can easily figure out the following changes:

  • A new middle header image is placed to reflect the identity of my blog;
  • Blog’s description appears on Home and paginated pages;
  • Posts have been re-organized into one category per post;
  • Taxonomy (categories/tags) have been re-organized and merged;
  • Pages that are accessed from the top menu have been revised;
  • Sidebar was revised to be more useful and less noisy;
  • Multiple tweaking for the look and the feel of the overall layout;
  • Finally, I changed my avatar to be closer to myself.

I am aware that the temporarily offline status of the blog will affect it on the short run but this shall be restored back on the long run in terms of ranking. Hereby, in future posts I shall discuss some of these technical points in details, but for now I am telling you this brief updates. Consequently, check the blog resources page for more technical hints about the blog if you wish.

3. Muslim Greetings: For the Muslim readers of you I say: Ramadan Mubarak and Ramadan Kareem for all of you wherever you are in the year Hijiri year 1431 which comes in the year 2010 A.D.

I am aware that this is a late greeting but as you know from reading this blog, better late than never. Hereby in case you haven’t notice yet, I placed Fanoos Ramadan in the header of my blog beside the title and it is there till the end of the month.

Consequently, I believe that this holy month is a special one from different aspects from Almighty Allah to Muslims through Islam, so if you are interested, take a look at the early post entitled “Ramadan: Nothing more than Feelings” from the year 2006 for more elaborations about this issue.

Finally, I end this proclamation by asking you to wish me a good luck in general and duaa’ (supplications) from the Muslims of you in particular during this holy month, and do not worry as I do my share of supplications for all of us and all humans on this world!

Note: for the Arabic-speaking readers especially Egyptians: أهو جيه يا ولاد – أهو جيه يا ولاد. طبعا هذا عن شهر رمضان، أما عن حضرتنا فيصدق فينا القول المأثور: المستكاوي رجع تاني
Thank you for stopping by!

  7. Welcome Back! I am saying this although I am just back to blogging as well after a pause of about 2 years since blogger deleting my blog for no reason. Now I have created a new blog and still reposting my stuff there…. Will try to be back to reading others’ blogs, too.
    Anyway, your blog looks nice now (I don’t even remember how it looked before :) )

    • Glad to hear from you. Of course I remember your “Thoughts and Tips” blog, so it’s great that you are back to blogging after almost 2 years through WordPress. Thanks, I think my blog looks better now too after circulating some themes :)
