Alexa in BloggingLand
I enjoy blogging technical posts from time to time although it is out of my niche in order to break the routine and to give you breaks from my thoughts, so celebrate my dears like you do either in “Eid” and “Christmas” and it is a second technical post in row after the previous one so ‘Hurray’ my friends!
In a previous post, I announced reaching a milestone for comments on my blog which is not bad for me and told you about spam comments too. In the matter of fact, I have stopped worrying about ‘Number of Comments’ I receive, ‘PageRank’ of my blog, ‘Alexa Rank’ of my domain, and all those type of worries that usually irritate other bloggers since I am concerned more about the quality of the content presented.
Nevertheless, I came across two posts over blogs for two of my online friends where they handled the alexa ranking issue in two different and opposite ways. In the matter of fact, I am not as much interested in discussing their opinions as in referring you to their posts so you can go further for reading what they have presented there in details. & this is why I choose the title of my post like that so please take a look at:
- The 3 Ways to Increase Your Alexa Ranking over The Extreme John Blog by John;
- Reasones for Why Alexa Ranking is Useless over TechJaws.com by Frank.
I have to mention that my way of not-to-worry about this issue has nothing to do either with being convinced or not convinced with such techniques in the blogsphere and websites in general since I am aware about the importance however this is my personal way to handle things.
Finally, I do not know whether I told you this before or not but I am happy with this awesome blogging software: WordPress. I might blog about this later but here you go!
“Enjoy your blogging experience.”

My opinion is that Frank is a little late to the dance with his theory, people have been saying that for years about Alexa Ranking, and you know what? It’s still used every day as a valuable tool for rating a website, regardless if Frank, Myself and 2000 other webmasters think so.

Thank you for the link luv btw, and I wanted to add that as a reader of my blog you know very well that I don’t even advertise on my blog so I pretty much call things how I see them and write how I want to write, not for Alexa, Google or Frank. I write for fun

EJ: me too write for the sake of writing no matter what Google thinks. As for ‘paid’ advertising, I am not into that trend yet and the few ads at the footer of my blog are simply reflecting my niche + techi stuff. I wish everybody a happy blogging journey!

Well Alexa is really helpful when it comes to some advertising networks. But it is not the perfect measure of blogs traffic or performance.

We’ll never running out of measuring tools: analytics, traffic , Alexa or PR.. it’s all out there and been used by advertising purposes. Definitely they have own reasons why to depend on the numbers before making their investments. Numbers are good, but not always priority. I love to review my site’s traffic, enjoy high amount of comments, but I’ll always try to source quality out of them. There are things that cannot be determined by numbers.
Thanks for sharing the articles. John & Frank are both good at what they’re delivering.

Ching Ya: I got your point of view and agree about the importance but -for me- it is not to worry too much about. Indeed, John & Frank’s article are worthy to check and I liked both arguments. Thanks for stopping by!
